About The Vice-Chancellor
Shri Shishir Sinha leads Bihar Sports University, as its First Vice-Chancellor, is an accomplished administrator, distinguished civil servant, and passionate sports enthusiast, his journey reflects a rare blend of leadership, discipline, and lifelong commitment to excellence.
A member of the Indian Administrative Service (1982) who formerly served as youngest Indian Police Service (1980 Bihar), officer. Shri Sinha has held several prestigious positions in public administration and governance. His vast administrative experience is complemented by his enduring passion for sports and physical fitness. Earlier in his career he commanded a platoon during the IPS Passing Out Parade at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad. He has also completed a Basic Course in Mountaineering and Rock Climbing from the Deccan School and demonstrated exceptional leadership. Mr. Sinha has attended numbers of in-service courses within Indian and abroad including at Harvard University, USA and Lund University, Sweden.
